the d3 or the d300?
I was looking at the 300 just now on BandHphoto.com and 18hun without a lens
its the top of the line prosumer from nikon atm.
I also see the perfect start for me the canon 30D
bah, the 5D is only $2500 and full frame though
heh, bccamera has $5 off the sigma DP 1.
ya I see that but I am the photodouche so maybe too much for me but tempting
hey potter, the 50mm f/1.4D is only $340 now.
@bobbyd: don't get a canon
really? ok thanks Vic! er why?
no, the nikon one
@randomfrequency: oooh..is that the sigma?
the sigma one is 30mm
Philip you travel more than my pal who is a diplomat for a foreign nation :) what are you doing in Frisco? if I may ask?
most people recommend going canon unless you're doing stupidly high end photography, they tend to have better rebates and software support.
in any event, you're going to need lots of HDD space
off like a heard of turtles ..... l8tr alpha geeks!
@bobbyd: from what i've seen, you can get better technology for less ATM
the d60 is crap
How about that new Nikon D60 for a newbie?
D80 is prolly sweet spot if I can find?
depends on if you're using manual focus lenses or not.
or if you plan on doing any IR
http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/recommended-cameras.htm
the difference between the d300 and everything else is the new image processor (less noise at higher iso)
if you're planning on doing portrait photography, use the canon 5d
the d60 isn't that well recieved
and you're never going to make a 30x40 print, because it costs $180 to frame it
D300, cool... I'm biased, of course, but then so is @ianivs - getting body only?
